Antonio Martorell
Puerto Rican artist who has ventured into the plastic arts, writing, theatre, radio, television and online media. His work has received top awards in Puerto Rico and abroad, and is featured in important private and public collections in Puerto Rico, Latin America, Europe, and the United States. He is a resident artist at the University of Puerto Rico-Cayey. He has corresponded with images to the literary works of Ernesto Cardenal, Pablo Neruda, Mario Benedetti, Antonio Machado, Javier Villaurrutia, Eraclio Zepeda, José Luis Gonzalez, Rosario Ferré, Antonio Díaz-Royo, and Francisco Manrique Cabrera, among others. In 2023, Antonio Martorell was awarded the National Medal of Arts by the president of the United States, Joseph R. Biden.
